Male Essentials has been scientifically formulated to provide key nutrients important for maintaining men’s health and wellbeing. This formula is designed to support energy production, healthy cognitive function and optimal protein metabolism. This formula contains Moducare™, a proprietary phytosterol complex containing beta-sitosterol. It also contains antioxidants such as Selenium, vitamin C, vitamin E and betacarotene to support healthy ageing processes. Milk thistle, a well known hepatoprotective herb, also has antioxidant properties. Calcium, magnesium, boron, vitamin D and vitamin K combine to maintain healthy bones. Folate and B12 can assist in supporting normal blood and cardiovascular function. Male Essentials is an iron-free formula, suitable for patients who may need to avoid extra iron supplementation. The formula combines the benefits of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals to provide an effective dietary supplement for men.

Features:
• Support for optimal immune function: Metagenics Male Essentials contains Moducare™ and vitamins and minerals for support of normal, healthy immunity. Moducare™ contains a proprietary mixture of plant sterols and sterolins with immunomodulatory effects. This combination not only enhances the in-vivo and in-vitro action of T lymphocytes, but also increases the cytotoxic effects of natural killer cells. This specific sterol mixture has been found to preferentially enhance CD4 TH1 cells and therefore could restore the delicate TH1:TH2 balance.
• Normalise male hormone balance: Beta-sitosterol (as found in Moducare™) has been shown to reduce prostatic production of the androgen Di-hydro Testosterone (DHT) in an animal model, via inhibition of the enzyme 5-alpha reductase.
• Support for liver detoxification: 3600 mg of Milk Thistle per tablet in this formula may help maintain normal healthy liver function and provide hepatoprotective effects, beneficial to support patients with exposure to pollution, alcohol, cigarettes and other toxins.
• Iron and copper free formula: Many Australians and New Zealanders have excessive levels of copper, which may compromise zinc absorption and lead to hormonal imbalance. In addition, men rarely require iron supplementation and an iron free formula provides reduced risk for iron overload in male patients and patients with Hemochromatosis. New Male Essentials provides and iron and copper free formula to help ensure a healthy mineral balance in your patients.
• Extra zinc for male health: Each Male Essentials tablet contains 20 mg of elemental zinc to support healthy male hormone production and normal immune resistance. Well over 50% of men do not consume the RDI for zinc, putting them at risk of deficiency symptoms.
• High quality, easily-absorbed minerals: Male Essentials contains the most advanced forms of chelated minerals (covalently bonded) to maximise absorption and delivery to cells.

WARNING: This product contains selenium which is toxic in high doses. A daily dose of 150 microgram for adults of selenium from dietary supplements should not be exceeded.

When taken in excess of 3000 micrograms retinol equivalents, vitamin A can cause birth defects. If you are pregnant, or considering becoming pregnant, do not take vitamin A supplements without consulting your doctor or pharmacist. The recommended daily amount of vitamin A from all sources is 900 micrograms retinol equivalents for men.

Vitamins can only be of assistance if the dietary vitamin intake is inadequate.
