Meet Barbara

I was born in Berlin, Germany. In 1972 my then husband and our 5 year old
daughter migrated to Australia. Eventually moving from Melbourne to Cairns where we owned and operated several
restaurants. After my divorce I moved to Sydney, where I got seriously interested in health and
weight training, so much so that I bought into a small all male gym. Slowly, I introduced more and more women
into the gym and soon needed to look for larger premises. I became a certified fitness instructor, teaching
weight training and aerobic classes. I entered several bodybuilding competitions and got
2nd place at the
age of 40 years. I operated The “Manly Gym and Fitness Centre” for
about 7 years.
After finishing my degree in Nutrition (“Advanced Diploma of
Nutrition”) I opened my business Holistic Health (and of course I am still recommending exercise as part of a
health program).
I have been working in my current practice since the beginning
of 2006. Before that time I worked part time in a local Health food store as Natural Therapist and
Ionictherapist (ionictherapy is a system of nutrititional analysis based on a mathematical equation, which is
applied to the interpretation of the end products of metabolism found in the saliva and
urine).
At the end of 2007, my friend Judie and I created a website
selling a limited range of alternative health products. www.strideintohealth.com
We love the way the internet is giving us the tools to reach and
be able to offer help to so many people – so we created the e-book "How to be Allergy Free" you can get a
free copy by entering your name and your e mail address in the submit

Meet Judie

I lived for many years in Papua
New Guinea, finally returning to Australia in 1980. In 1989 I went to college to study natural medicine and
graduated in 1993.
I owned and operated a natural therapy and massage clinic in
Brisbane, until moving to Airlie Beach, Queensland in 2002.
In 2004 I was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis (MG), an
autoimmune disease. MG comes in varying forms from slight ptosis (droopiness of the eyelids) to very
severe forms, affecting arm and leg muscles, breathing etc. It took many months for me to be diagnosed
and it wasnt until I choked and had to be rushed to hospital that tests revealed MG. My MG
affected my speech (I sounded like I had had too much alcohol to drink), my ability to swallow and my ability
to breathe properly - all very scary, and certainly not nice for someone who loves to eat and
talk!!
I also had an unencapsulated malignant thymoma. I spent
2004 in and out of Intensive Care, on and off Life Support and in and out of
hospital.
At the time I was so scared, but now I look back on that year as
one of the most amazing opportunities in my entire life. I was able (with help) to work out why I
attracted the MG in the first place and have been able to work through issues - some of the issues originated
from my time "in utero".
As a result of the Myasthenia Gravis, I was no longer able to
work in the Remedial therapy arena.
It took me several
years to regain my health and strength to the point where I was able to have some "normality" back in my
life. In 2007 I was well enough to join forces with my Nutritionist friend, Barbara Bourke to create
Stride into Health, and www.onlyminerals.com . I know that these wonderful minerals had (and continue
to have) a profound positive affect on my health.
Last year I expanded
my qualifications to include Hypnotherapy www.selfcarehypnotherapy.com
I am constantly amazed at the power of words, whether they be
written or spoken. Through hypnotherapy and the power of words I am able to work with people on a deep
and profound level, and assist them to bring about the changes they desire.
My whole lifestyle, my studies and my personal experiences have
always revolved around natural health and wellness, and like Barbara I am so grateful that the internet has
given me the opportunity to reach out to so many people.
